Taking microneedling to the next level
As we age, our skin faces a host of changes, with among these a loss in elastin and collagen. This results in the well-known signs of photodamage, with fine and deep lines on the face, neck, chest and body; uneven skin texture; loose skin; large pores; pigment irregularities; scars; stretch marks; blood vessels and redness.
Today, there are a range of minimally and non-invasive rejuvenation and resurfacing treatments available, which can reduce signs of ageing considerably.
Fractora is the most advanced fractional radio-frequency treatment providing anti-ageing improvements on skin tone and texture for a more radiant appearance through ablation and skin resurfacing.
Skin Concerns Addressed by Fractora:
- Addresses multiple problems, including treatment of wrinkles with fractional coagulation and ablation.
- Significant resolution of cystic acne and scars (improving acne scarring by 50%).
- Safe even on skin type VI with little risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) which is common with other resurfacing methods.
How RF Microneedling works
Fractora stimulates collagen production via fractionated RF (radio-frequency) coagulation. This improves skin quality achieving a more balanced skin tone and youthful appearance, for all skin types. Fractora peer-reviewed clinical studies also demonstrate impressive results for the treatment of acne scars and active acne, even cystic.
As a nonsurgical skin-rejuvenating treatment, Fractora RF delivers radiofrequency energy below the skin’s surface, via micro-needling. The Fractora RF device makes micro-injuries in the dermis (the lower layer of the skin) with tiny needles and fractionated radiofrequency energy, experienced as heat.
This triggers the skin’s natural healing response, restructuring the existing collagen, stimulating the production of more, and increasing the rate of cell turnover. The result is tighter, firmer skin, with better tone and more even texture. It also helps reduce acne by shrinking the skin’s oil glands.
Because the treatment generally promotes healthy new skin, it can effectively treat many concerns, including fine lines and wrinkles, mild sagging, scars, stretch marks, hyperpigmentation, and even active acne.
Though it’s most commonly used on the face and neck, Fractora RF can treat any area of the body. It’s also safe for all skin tones, because it targets the deeper layers of the skin—unlike lasers, which target the superficial layers.

Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS FRACTORA?
Fractora skin treatment is a fractional rejuvenation and resurfacing treatment that reduces wrinkles to slow the effects of aging and restore skin to its youthful appearance. Fractora lets you look and feel younger.
WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED?
Fractora can be used on any areas that can benefit from skin renewal. The most commonly treated areas include: lower eyelid, upper eyelid, smile lines, forehead, cheeks, mouth and neck. Face and body areas that exhibit wrinkles, discolouration or acne scarring are suitable for treatment.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
Depending on your Fractora treatment regime you can expect to have between 1-6 sessions.
HOW QUICKLY WILL I SEE RESULTS?
Visible results can be seen immediately, but typically after two weeks, the most noticeable results appear. Improvements continue up to three months after treatment.
WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF FRACTIONATED ENERGY?
Fractionated RF energy found in Fractora is a scientifically proven method to reduce wrinkles. It is minimally invasive, using a matrix of micro-pins to resurface and restore the skin, providing exceptional results with almost no patient downtime.
WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF RF ENERGY?
RF energy heats the deep layers of the skin in a controlled way to revitalize the collagen. Fractora treatment will improve skin complexion and texture for a more radiant and youthful appearance.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY TREATMENT?
For a week before your treatment, stay out of the sun, discontinue use of topical retinoids, and keep your skin well-hydrated by moisturising in the morning and evening. You should also avoid anticoagulants, like alcohol, aspirin, and ibuprofen, for at least a week beforehand to reduce the risk of bleeding and bruising.
CAN THIS BE USED IN COMBINATION WITH OTHER TREATMENTS?
Yes, Fractora can be used in the same treatment session or a few days after other treatments. Fractora can also be combined with additional energy treatments or injectables to achieve a more extensive full face result, called a FracTotal Facial.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR TREATMENT:
A Fractora RF treatment typically lasts an hour or two. Your provider will first apply a numbing cream to your skin or inject the treatment area with a local anaesthetic.
Once you’re numb, your provider will stamp the handheld Fractora RF device into your skin repeatedly, across the full treatment area. With each contact, the needles puncture your skin and transmit the radiofrequency energy as heat. The anaesthetic should mitigate pain, but you may still feel some discomfort.
WHEN CAN I PUT MAKE-UP ON AFTER TREATMENT?
Since patient downtime is minimal, makeup can be applied 1 to 2 days after the treatment. Patients should expect to see micro lesions a few days after treatment and slight redness for up to 1 week depending on treatment parameters.
WHAT KIND OF POST PROCEDURE CARE IS REQUIRED?
You will be send you home with detailed aftercare instructions. You shouldn’t experience too much discomfort, but some mild reddening of the skin and some possible slight swelling can occur. It should disappear in a couple of days. You might also have some light track marks, scabbing, peeling, or even oozing for up to 48 hours.
Patients should moisturize the treatment area and avoid direct sun exposure. It’s important to stay out of the sun for at least a month, to reduce the chance of hyperpigmentation. Your fresh new skin will be more sensitive and making a regular habit of wearing a good, broad-spectrum sunscreen every day to help protect against future skin damage. In addition to reducing future risk of skin cancer, sunscreens also reduce wrinkles and slow the ageing process.
